Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS) and Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR)

The Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS) is a revolutionary command-and-control (C2) system developed to deliver a single, unambiguous view of the battlespace.

The AMDR (Air and Missile Defense Radar, now officially named AN/SPY-6)is an active electronically scanned array air and missile defense 3D radar. The AMDR system consists of two primary radars and a radar suite controller (RSC) to coordinate the sensors.

Let's Talk

The challenge

IBCS integrates air and missile defense systems to eliminate stovepipes and allow war fighters to use any sensor or weapons to achieve mission objectives. All the components are very critical. Even few seconds of the downtime of any integrated sub-systems can paralyze the overall operation at the crucial time.

What is at Stake

The availability of the complete air and missile defense system for the region.

The Solution

Our experts embedded high availability middleware and successfully helped in making the entire system (used in IBCS and AMDR) highly available.

Risk Transformed

  • Cascade failures of sub-systems resulting in catastrophic failures
  • Mission failures
  • Poor reliability and use-ability of systems
  • Cost saving to defence organization
  • Ensured the integrity and availability of the systems
  • Automatic fault detection and correction
